The father of a 14-year-old girl who was allegedly kidnapped in Lonoke County, Arkansas is behind bars after the kidnapper was killed in a shooting incident. The father said the confrontation occurred when he discovered the man with his daughter and tried to save her.

Kirk Sheriff's Office officials said they received a report of a missing child at 1:12 a.m. Tuesday. reported. On their way to the crime scene, police learned that the girl's father, Aaron Spencer, found her in a car allegedly driven by Michael Fossler.
Officials said there was an argument between the men and Vossler was shot. Vossler reportedly died at the scene.
In a post on a now-deleted GoFundMe page, the girl's mother said the family woke up at 1 a.m. to the sound of her daughter's dog barking. When her parents checked her room, they found that she was not in bed. They called 911.

She explained that her daughter was “groomed and raped” by a 67-year-old man earlier this year. The man was arrested and charged, but has posted $50,000 bail and is awaiting trial in December. It is unclear whether this man is the same man involved in Tuesday's alleged kidnapping of the girl.
The mother said her husband “blindly searched for our 14-year-old son.”
“By the grace of God, he passed the predator's car on the road and followed it, taking our child with him to try to stop the car,” she explained. “My husband was able to catch up and get his child back. In the process, he was attacked and did what he needed to do to protect himself and his daughter.”
Deputies arrive and Sheriff Staley takes Spencer into custody on “preliminary suspicion of first degree murder” pending further investigation. The sheriff's office said: “We do not intend to press any specific charges.” He explained that the prosecutor will decide whether to file formal charges.
On Thursday afternoon, the sheriff's office said Spencer had not been formally charged. He is being held in the Lonoke County Jail on preliminary charges of first-degree murder.
