Arkansas’ Eric Musselman whips off shirt following upset win over Kansas

Arkansas head coach Eric Musselman couldn’t contain himself.

58 year old head coach ripped off his shirt After one of the biggest wins of his career, a 72-71 victory over the No. 1 seed and defending champion Kansas Jayhawks.

Eighth-seeded Arkansas earned a ticket to Sweet 16 with a win.

“This is an incredible win for our program,” Musselman said after the upset victory. “We keep telling people we’re getting better. Not many teams get better at this time of year. I’ve never been more proud of a team than tonight.”

Arkansas’ third-year coach hopped onto the scorers’ table shortly after the buzzer rang and pumped his fist to excite the wild Arkansas crowd in Des Moines, Iowa.

Ricky Council IV made five clutch free throws in the final seconds to cap off the win for the Musselmans Razorbacks.

Arkansas previously upset Gonzaga, who was also ranked No. 1 seed last season under Musselman.

Before the head coach joined the Razorbacks, Arkansas was 0-10 against the #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

While coaching Nevada in 2018, he was seen shirtless celebrating in the locker room after achieving a 22-point comeback against then-No. 2-seeded Cincinnati.

He also took off his shirt after winning the No. at the time. 1 auburn last season.

The Arkansas head coach was loud and shirtless, while Kansas had head coach Bill Self on the sidelines due to health issues.

Arkansas previously edged out Illinois in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday before facing Kansas.

The Razorbacks will face the winners of No. 5 St. Mary’s and No. 4 UConn in a Sweet 16 matchup.
