Arkansas lineman Fernando Carmona has broken his silence after being reprimanded for stepping on the ankle of a Texas A&M player during the Liberty Bowl.
Carmona showed full remorse for what he did last Friday.

“I would like to apologize for my actions at the Liberty Bowl last Friday night. I kept my feelings away from myself,” Carmona wrote in a post to X. I have nothing but respect for Texas Tech and the game of football. I apologize to the team and coach. I'm not that type of player, so I'm still learning. ”

Baskerville appeared to be in distress as Carmona casually tried to extend a hand to help his teammate.
“There's no denying that Arkansas played a great game last night, and I'm not going to take that away from them,” Baskerville said in a since-deleted post to X, addressing the incident from two angles. “But it's just filthy when #55 Fernando Carmona blatantly steps on my ankle and pushes me down on purpose. He keeps saying, 'I've got your b**** a***.' . Do your best. ”
The incident occurred in the fourth quarter when the Razorbacks ran the ball up the middle and Baskerville came in for a stop.
As Baskerville lay on the field, Carmona walked over his ankle.
The incident during the game, which Arkansas won 39-26, sparked a lot of outcry on social media.
