Arkansas State Police have released a concerning image of a man who allegedly murdered the parents of two young girls during a hike in Devilsden State Park last Saturday.
The photograph depicts a man in the woods, his back facing the camera, positioned near the trail and surrounded by dark foliage.
Although the suspect’s face isn’t visible, the image captures some recognizable features from behind, such as a baseball cap, short black hair, and a sizable backpack.
Authorities continue to seek a white male with a medium build, last seen rolling up the sleeves of a long-sleeved shirt. He was reportedly wearing dark pants, a dark baseball cap, sunglasses, and fingerless gloves.
They mentioned that the suspect had a black backpack at the time of the incident.
It’s believed he fled the scene in a black four-door sedan, possibly a Mazda, which had tape over its license plate.
Clinton David Brink, 43, and his wife, 41-year-old Christan Amanda Brink, were found dead in a secluded area of the expansive 2,500-acre park last Saturday, while hiking with their two young daughters.
The seven- and nine-year-old girls were unharmed and have been placed in the custody of relatives after being released from the park’s visitor center.
The family described the couple as “heroes who protect their little girls,” adding, “They will live forever in all our hearts.”
The Brinks had recently relocated from South Dakota to Arkansas, and Clinton was set to begin a new job as a milk delivery driver the following Monday, according to his employer.
Authorities have sent the bodies to the state crime lab to determine the exact cause of death.
Investigators are still trying to understand the motivations behind this tragic event.
Devil’s Den State Park, nestled in the Ozark National Forest, is renowned for its stunning natural scenery, including multiple caves, rock formations, and opportunities for recreational activities like fishing and horseback riding.
