An Arkansas teen is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a high school senior outside a party early Sunday after his high school prom.
Dontelius Stevens, 19, of Helena turned himself in to authorities Sunday afternoon in connection with the shooting death of Lorenzo Harrison III, 18, an Arkansas State Police spokesperson said.
Helena Harrison, a senior at West Helena’s Central High School, was shot and killed at an off-campus party after the school’s prom. Helena – West Helena is located on the Mississippi River, approximately 84 miles southwest of Memphis, Tennessee.

Stevens was being held at the Phillips County Jail on Sunday, according to the inmate list. As of Sunday afternoon, it was not clear whether he had an attorney representing him or when he would make his first court appearance. According to state police, Stevens was a graduate of the school.

Other students were also at the party, but police did not say how many people attended. There were no other injuries from the shooting.
