Armando Niedermayer Rubio recently announced that his visa has been extended for an additional 30 days while he stays in Arizona with his daughter, Hannah, who is currently hospitalized.
“Approved✅,” he shared on Instagram on Sunday. “This means I can continue to be with Hannah as she gets the necessary treatment, which is crucial for her recovery.” He mentioned that he could at least be with his husband, Kenny, for the next month.
In his post, Armando expressed deep gratitude to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for their understanding and compassion during this challenging time. He acknowledged how the agency treated his situation with kindness and respect.
He also gave a “special thanks” to Rep. Adelita Grijalva for her support and to immigration lawyers for their continued efforts. “Thank you for your persistent work every step of the way as this process unfolds,” he said. He concluded with heartfelt thanks to everyone who sent prayers and messages of encouragement to his family.
Armando, 37, wrapped up his message by saying, “Your love has supported us through these tough days. Being approved to stay by Hannah’s side is yet another answered prayer. Please keep her in your thoughts as she continues to heal.”
Earlier this month, Armando was turned away at the border when Hannah was transported from Mexico to a hospital in Arizona for a brain hemorrhage. Eventually, he applied for a temporary humanitarian visa, but was informed that such visas haven’t been issued since 2025.
After facing numerous challenges, he was finally reunited with his family on July 18 when he received an emergency humanitarian visa. However, two days later, he reported that Hannah was discharged but had to be readmitted due to worsening physical symptoms.
These symptoms included partial blindness, a drooping face, and weakness. Despite her condition, Hannah mentioned she was “doing well” while undergoing various tests to assess the situation. “Doctors are running scans, and more information will come soon,” Armando wrote on Instagram.
