An armed robber stole a bag containing $250,000 in cash outside a Queens hotel on Thursday, police said.
According to the New York Police Department, around 6:11 p.m., the assailant allegedly pointed a gun at a 45-year-old man carrying a bag full of cash outside the New York LaGuardia Airport Marriott Hotel in East Elmhurst and stole the bag.
The gunman then jumped into a silver car and fled somewhere with the cash.
It is unclear why the victim was carrying so much cash or if the victim was staying at the hotel at 102-05 Ditmars Street or was in any way associated with the hotel.
Following the armed robbery, officers were seen taking fingerprints from the passenger side door of a black Jeep.
Reached by phone, a hotel front desk employee said he could not comment on the robbery.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
