Two gun-toting robbers on mopeds stole a man’s watch worth $100,000 outside Manhattan hotspot Carbone on Tuesday night, police and officials said.
According to police and law enforcement sources, the two men approached the 39-year-old victim outside a Greenwich Village restaurant around 8:45 p.m., pressed a black gun against his chest and demanded that he remove his Patek Philippe watch.
Sources say the suspects stole expensive jewelry and then got on mopeds and sped off north on Thompson Street.
No one was injured, but it is unclear whether the victim was a customer at the upscale Italian restaurant, which is notoriously hard to get a seat at and is frequented by celebrities.
Carbon’s so-called “black market” reservations can sell for between $150 and $450 on resale apps.
Carbone employees declined to comment on the robbery, and Major Food Group, the company that operates the Thompson Street restaurant, did not immediately respond to an email.
Meanwhile, patrons of the popular restaurant and local residents seemed unfazed by the gunpoint robbery.
“That’s New York, you have to watch your watch,” joked one of the three men emerging from Carbone.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
