Arrest made in murder of teen Edgar Martínez in Connecticut

Two young men are charged with the murder of their teenage cousin after his body was found wrapped in a blanket on the side of a highway in Connecticut on Saturday, days before his 19th birthday, heartbreaking It was a development.

Police said Edgar Josué Siche Martinez was shot inside the apartment he shared with his cousin and dumped on the side of Pope Park Highway in Hartford. NBC Connecticut reported.

The boy's male cousin, 17, was charged with murder and tampering with evidence, and another cousin, the sender, Sotovelis, 21, was charged with hindering prosecution and tampering with evidence.

Authorities determined that Mr. Martinez was shot to death inside their shared apartment on Saturday, and that his body was found wrapped in a comforter on the side of a highway about 24 hours earlier. WTNH reported.

Martinez's family told NBC they believe money was the motive for the murder.

His aunt, Veronica Imelda Martinez Mayen, said her nephew was not one to get into trouble.

“He stayed away from the party. [he was] It’s very friendly,” she said.

Martinez graduated from Hartford High School this spring and would have turned 19 on Thursday.

His aunt said his family knew something was wrong when he didn't come to work on Thursdays and Fridays, and his sister described him as a caring person, a hard worker and a great older brother.

The sender, Sotovelis, a 21-year-old cousin of the victim, is charged with hindering prosecution and tampering with evidence.

“I will always remember him as the most beautiful person I ever knew,” said his sister Nimsa Martinez.

Martinez's parents are in Guatemala. His family, who live in Connecticut, hope to have his body sent there for burial.

Police said Sotovelis, who is being held on $500,000 bail, will be arraigned in court Wednesday morning, and the juvenile charged will be transferred to adult court.
