Aryna Sabalenka beats Zheng Qinwen win Australian Open title

Aryna Sabalenka won back-to-back Australian Open titles with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Zheng Qinwen in a one-sided women's final on Saturday.

Second-seeded Sabalenka broke Chung's serve in the second game and took the first set in 33 minutes.

She broke again to start the second set and maintained her dominance throughout against 12th seed Zheng.

Serving in the second set at 5-2, he won three championship points at 40-0, but missed two on wide or long forehands and one on Chung's clever drop shot.

In the end, she needed five championship points to finish with a forehand cross-court winner.

Sabalenka won two of three Grand Slam finals in 13 months.

She becomes the first female player to win back-to-back Australian Open titles since Victoria Azarenka in 2012 and 2013.

It was the 21-year-old's first appearance in a major final, and the first time he faced an opponent ranked in the top 50.
