Assistant principal and her husband charged with assaulting two men during dispute at girls' softball game for 12-year-olds

Incident at Youth Softball Game Involves Assistant Principal, Husband

An assistant principal from a Texas public school and her husband are facing accusations of assault following a violent altercation at a youth softball game over the weekend. Reports indicate that one of the victims suffered serious injuries, including a fractured skull and brain bleeds, after being struck with a metal water bottle.

The incident took place on Saturday at Imperial Park in Sugar Land during a game featuring 12-year-old select softball teams. Eyewitness video captured the confrontation, as detailed by KTRK-TV.

The couple, Kiarious and Jazmine Hall, were present to support their daughter. The altercation reportedly began over Kiarious Hall’s loud cheering during the opposing team’s at-bats. According to Hall, a supporter of the opposing team approached him and told him he “couldn’t cheer before the players pitched the ball.”

Witnesses claimed that Hall then struck the opposing team’s father in the face with the water bottle, leading to the man collapsing and becoming unconscious. The video, reviewed by investigators, allegedly shows Hall swinging the bottle again at another individual, a grandfather, before a broader physical confrontation ensued. Jazmine was also seen entering the fray and pushing the grandfather.

Gary Greaser, the grandfather in question, mentioned he had come to watch his granddaughter play and expressed his disapproval of Hall’s behavior at the game. He tried to intervene after the first attack, saying, “I said, ‘You can’t do this.'” He felt it was necessary to step in to prevent further aggression.

While Kiarious Hall claimed he was acting in self-defense, stating that the men had “elbowed” and “poked” him, court documents noted that the reviewed video did not corroborate such actions.

Both Hall and his wife were identified in the footage as wearing pink shirts, while the unconscious father donned a dark blue shirt, and Greaser was in light blue.

The father who was struck was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital with critical injuries, including three brain bleeds and a broken jaw. Greaser also suffered injuries, requiring stitches and treatment for a broken hip.

Describing the scene, Greaser remarked, “It’s medieval times,” reflecting disbelief at the violent altercation occurring in such a setting.

Following the incident, Sugar Land police arrested both Kiarious and Jazmine Hall, who have since been booked into the Fort Bend County Jail. Jazmine now faces a charge of assault causing bodily injury, while Kiarious faces two counts related to the incident.

In light of the event, Jazmine Hall has resigned from her role as assistant principal at Lamar Junior High School. Lamar CISD released a statement confirming their awareness of the event, emphasizing that it occurred outside of school activities.

When approached for comment, Hall declined to speak. Meanwhile, Greaser’s attorney mentioned discussions with the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office regarding potentially upgrading the charges against the Halls.
