The Associated Press said reporters were blocked from participating in official oval office events as news outlets did not use the previously designated new name for the Gulf of Mexico “American Gulf.”

The Associated Press said in a statement On Tuesday, the reporter said he would not be allowed to attend the signing of the executive order.

The AP Style Book is Used By many journalists and writers beyond those employed by the Associated Press.
The news outlet also claimed without evidence that “billions of people around the world every day with factual, nonpartisan journalism.”
The Trump administration has shown hostility towards mainstream media by opening up the path to the media briefing room to “independent journalists, podcasters, social media influencers and content creators.”
