The company’s astronomer revealed that CEO Andy Byron has stepped down following a recent incident at a Coldplay concert.
“We expect our leaders to uphold standards of conduct and accountability, and those expectations haven’t been met lately,” the astronomer mentioned in a social media update on Saturday.
“Andy Byron has submitted his resignation, which the board has accepted,” the company stated, adding that they would begin searching for a new CEO, with co-founder and chief product officer Pete DeJoy stepping in.
The astronomer noted, “Earlier this week, we were recognized as innovators in the DataOps field, assisting data teams in transitioning from modern analytics to production AI.”
“Our image may have shifted overnight, but our products and customers remain unchanged,” the company emphasized. “We are committed to addressing the most challenging data and AI issues for our customers.”
In the announcement regarding Byron’s departure, it was stated that “leaders are expected to set standards in both conduct and accountability,” following news of a formal investigation into executives.
The software company also addressed circulating rumors about a third employee, clarifying that a social media user was not present at the Coldplay event with Byron and HR chief Christine Cabot. “Alyssa Stoddard was not at the concert, and no other employees were in the video,” the astronomer disclosed.
Byron’s resignation follows a highly publicized moment on Wednesday when he and Cabot attempted to evade the kiss cam during Coldplay’s performance in front of a full audience at Gillette Stadium near Boston.
The kiss cam focused on the two executives as they tried to remain unnoticed during an interactive part of the concert. Realizing they were in the spotlight, Byron and Cabot quickly turned away, as if to disappear.

“They must either be very shy or cheating,” joked Chris Martin, reacting to the executives’ attempts to avoid the cameras.
“Oh no, I hope we didn’t do anything wrong,” the “Yellow” singer added, noticing that Byron and Cabot were not returning to the view of the kiss cam.
The incident quickly gained traction on social media, becoming a topic of conversation and humor among users.
