At least three people were killed and two New York City police officers were injured early Sunday in a stabbing attack and fire at a home in Far Rockaway, Queens, law enforcement officials said.
Shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday, officers received a 911 call reporting an assault at an apartment complex at 467 Beach 22nd Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found three people dead, fire officials told the Post.
One responding officer was slashed in the face by the suspect, and another was slashed in the neck, police officials said.
Sources said officers then shot and killed the suspect, who was left in critical condition.
Officials said the injured NYPD officers were taken to Jamaica Hospital and are expected to recover.
Three more people were taken to local hospitals in critical condition, according to the FDNY.
When the FDNY extinguished the fire, they found three more stabbed bodies, sources said.
The fire was being investigated by FDNY sheriff’s officials.
Police will hold a press conference at the hospital at 8:30 a.m. to address the media.
