In Chicago, led by Democrat Mayor Brandon Johnson, at least 36 people were shot between Friday and Sunday night, six of them fatally.
ABC7 No. 7 report Some of the deadly shootings included the shooting of a man on Friday in the 10900 block of South Wentworth Avenue. The 42-year-old man was in his backyard with others when two gunmen shot him multiple times.
The 42-year-old man died at the scene.
A 34-year-old woman was found unconscious with a gunshot wound to the head just after 2 a.m. Sunday. She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Fox 32 I got it. Officers were involved in a shooting at 8:48 Saturday night after a suspect attempted to flee from officers.
The suspect is believed to have dropped the gun, then picked it up, prompting police to open fire. The suspect was shot multiple times and was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
