A single mother of three was attacked by a swarm of venomous spiders in her Georgia home, leaving her face swollen and with horrific injuries that left her skin feeling “on fire”.
Jessica Logue (44 years old) Atlanta News First She said she was cleaning a shed outside her Atlanta home on July 1 when she came across several brown recluse spiders.
“I was just cleaning up and immediately felt something on my face next to my eye. I felt like I’d been bitten,” she said.
according to WSAZLogue said the brown recluse spider bit him in multiple places, including on his face.
“There was a spider on me. There was a really dirty spider web where I was and I was trying to clean it up,” she said.
Less than 24 hours later, Rogue was rushed to hospital with swelling in her face, arms and throat, as well as a rash – a bite from a brown recluse spider can be fatal.
“What really worries me is my eye. It hurts so much. I have no idea what’s going to happen to it,” she told local news media while wearing an eye patch.
a GoFundMe $2,360 was raised to help with Rogue’s medical expenses.
“She has paralysis and mobility issues in her limbs (it is not yet clear whether this is temporary or permanent) and her skin feels hot to the touch,” fundraiser organizer Morgan Underwood wrote.
“She is unable to work, has three beautiful daughters and is still in hospital.”
In an update on July 5, Underwood said Rogue was on the mend, adding that “the swelling in her face has gone down a lot,” but that she was “now covered in a very itchy, painful rash.”
“His arms, neck and chest are also covered in an itchy, painful rash and blisters have formed where he was bitten, so we are monitoring him closely,” the update said.
