AT&T customers report outage, being stuck in SOS mode on iPhones

(International Labour Organization) — AT&T customers in some parts of the country are reporting issues that are causing service to go out and iPhone devices to get stuck in SOS mode.

Reports of outages peaked just before 6 p.m. Down DetectorMore than 5,700 users reported service disruptions. By 8:35 p.m., the number of reports had dropped to just over 3,400.

According to USA TodayA company spokesman said AT&T was working to fix “a software issue that may be causing some customers to be unable to connect to our wireless network.”

A spokesperson told the outlet that the outage appears to be affecting customers in the Midwest and East Coast, but Downdetector shows reports coming in from as far away as California.

Meanwhile, power outages are reportedly affecting 911 calls in some states.

City officials in North Little Rock, Arkansas, He said he was notified by AT&T. Power outages could prevent customers from contacting emergency dispatchers.

“We are working to fully isolate and resolve the issue. The specific cause of the outage has not yet been determined,” AT&T said in a statement to the city.

Officials in Hanover County, Virginia, received a similar notice from the company.
