Florida Attorney General Seeks License Revocation for Nurse Over Controversial Comments

Florida Attorney General James Usmayer is urging the Florida Board of Nursing to revoke the license of a nurse who, according to White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt, expressed a desire for serious injury during childbirth.

Usmayer stated, “Women shouldn’t have to be concerned about nurses with political motives wishing pain and suffering upon them during childbirth.” He described the situation as “evil” and emphasized the need for the Board of Nursing to take action to protect patients.

In a TikTok video, Lexi Lawler, a former labor and delivery nurse from Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital, openly wished for Leavitt to endure a severe childbirth injury, using explicit language to make her point.

She harshly expressed her hopes for Leavitt to “tear it apart from bow to stern” during delivery. Recently, Leavitt announced her pregnancy with a girl due in May, and another son expected in July 2024.

Following the backlash, Lawler was terminated from her position at the hospital, which stated that her comments do not align with their values or the standards expected from healthcare staff. Despite this, Lawler defended her statements through another video, which referenced a recent mass shooting in Minnesota while responding to criticism.

A GoFundMe page has been created for Lawler, aiming for $14,000, and has already raised nearly $5,000.

Fox News Digital has attempted to contact both the Florida Board of Nursing and Lawler for their comments.
