The police conversation following Tiger Woods’ car crash while allegedly under the influence of alcohol has been made public.
Audio from the 911 call showed that authorities were told a witness from SiriusXM informed them of the accident. One officer stated, “We got a call from SiriusXM about a motor vehicle accident.” Another added, “I have contacted SiriusXM to let them know a black Range Rover seems to have been part of the collision.”
During the call, the 911 operator expressed concern for the driver’s well-being, asking, “Were you able to reach the driver?” To which a sheriff’s office representative replied, “No, ma’am, we haven’t heard back from them yet.”
Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek revealed that Woods was arrested on charges of driving under the influence after allegedly causing a crash in Florida that flipped his vehicle. The sheriff’s office clarified that Woods’ car was traveling at a “high rate of speed” before colliding with another vehicle, leading to it rolling over onto its side. Budensiek commented that it appeared Woods had “crawled” from the passenger side of the car.
Authorities mentioned that Woods showed signs of impairment. He produced a “triple zero” for alcohol levels but declined a urine test.
Woods now faces charges for driving under the influence, criminal damage to property, and refusing to submit to a test, all classified as misdemeanors. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident, and Woods was alone in the car after it flipped.
