Biden Tapes Leak Raises Questions on Classified Information

Recent audio recordings have surfaced, showing that former President Joe Biden may have disclosed classified information during discussions with a ghostwriter for his 2017 memoir, as reported by CBS News.

The tapes, around 70 hours worth, were made public after a protracted legal struggle involving Biden’s legal team.

These recordings were part of a report by special counsel Robert Hur, which examined Biden’s handling of classified documents. Released in February 2024, the report did not recommend any legal action.

In one recording, Biden remarked, “Some of this may be classified. … So be careful. I don’t know. … It’s not classified, but…” Later, he mentioned, “The next thing here is, um, this is classified.”

XU, a ghostwriter, characterized Biden in a manner that seemed to support claims regarding his declining mental acuity, noting that he frequently forgets details and stumbles over words during conversations.

Biden was heard saying, “Okay – what were you trying to ask me? Anything else… um… hmmm. Fair enough. I can’t think of anything else,” at one point.

The release of these tapes has been hailed as a significant achievement by the Heritage Foundation’s surveillance initiative.

Mike Howell, director of the Surveillance Project, stated, “These tapes should never have been hidden. Special Counsel Ho’s investigation was a completely orchestrated dismantling to get Biden off the hook. It’s time to revisit the subjects Biden and his allies want to keep quiet.”

Jeff Clark, Vice President of Litigation at the Oversight Project, mentioned, “Our team is currently reviewing the Biden tapes. We’re going to make a variety of bombshell statements.” He stressed that the tapes illustrate Biden revealing a considerable amount of classified information to the ghostwriter, Mark Zwonitzer.

Biden’s memoir is titled “Dad, Promise Me: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose.”
