The son of the Boston Red Sox star who allegedly murdered his young son before committing suicide is a “beast,” the boy’s relatives claim.
George Scott III, 54, whose father was a Red Sox first baseman, and his 8-year-old son Dante were found dead Friday at their home in New Bedford, Massachusetts, officials said.
The alleged murder and suicide occurred when authorities recently raided Scott’s home in connection with the disappearance of Dante’s mother, Lisa Hazard, 29, in March 2019, according to reports. It is said that
Scott was a person interested in Hazard’s disappearance. His relatives said he died the day after his eighth birthday.
Lisa Hazard’s aunt accused Scott in a scathing social media post after news of the apparent murder-suicide broke.
Hazard’s aunt, Crystal Wolgemuth, wrote that she believes Scott III also murdered his niece, then a shared son and committed suicide to avoid arrest.
“I tell you the truth, this bastard killed my gorgeous niece.” [and] Now her handsome son,” Wolgemuth wrote. “One of the saddest days of my life was knowing all along that George had a lot to do.” [with] disappearance, [and] I kept telling my niece [he] He was the man, but when he realized he had been found out, he was going to jail. “
Wolgemuth also criticized the investigative authorities investigating Hazard’s disappearance. Her young mother was last seen leaving her mother’s house in Fall River, Massachusetts, on March 5, 2019.

“I’m just devastated – but you would have known it was him,” Wolgemuth wrote. “I had a mad [sic]Feeling. I wanted the police to do their job from day one. We won’t lose Lisa from this, but we’ll have to bury her son too. ”
Others, who said they were friends of Hazard, also denounced those who pursued Hazard’s case.

Cassandra Czech wrote on Facebook that she was “devastated and furious.” “We’ve been saying this for years. I knew it was him. The police ignored my friend and her son.”
Authorities raided the home Scott shared with Dante a month ago, but the search warrant was subsequently sealed by a judge. NBC Boston reported.

neighbor Richard Megan told WCBV During the search, he saw authorities remove a vehicle from his home, which he initially thought had been seized.
Meanwhile, Hazard’s sister Christina Rosas Hazard posted that Dante Hazard had just turned eight on Thursday, the day before his body was found.

“Today we celebrate you turning 8! … Lisa, we miss you … We miss you,” Christina Hazard wrote.
In August 2022, Christina Hazard released an update on her sister’s case, saying a new detective had been assigned.
“Lisa has another new detective. No updates yet, just that they are looking into some ‘things,'” she wrote. “So, if anyone knows or has seen anything, here’s some new detective information. We won’t stop fighting you, my beautiful sister.”
