Aussie PM Shares Personal Life Information, Mentions Japanese Leader and Her 'Beautiful Features'

Controversial Remarks from Australia’s Prime Minister

Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is facing backlash after a podcast interview filled with crude sexual innuendos. In it, he discussed everything from his personal life with his wife to comments about Japanese leader Sanae Takaichi and her “beautiful melons.”

The interview, recorded at the prime minister’s official residence in Canberra, was part of a game called “shag, marry, date,” where “shag” is a vulgar term for sex. Following the conversation, Albanese quickly apologized for his inappropriate remarks.

The 20-minute podcast features multiple exchanges that have drawn criticism for being immature, reminiscent of schoolboy humor. The host started the interview by joking about drinking whiskey with Albanese, saying the prime minister would “give me two fingers.”

During the discussion, Albanese turned a diplomatic gift from Takaichi into a sexual joke, recalling the time he received two royal melons from her. He made remarks suggesting she was like a celebrity known for her physique, saying, “Like you, she brought two…and they’re beautiful.”

The presenter further speculated about Albanese and his wife, Jodie Haydon, still being “giggling like rabbits.” Albanese appeared quite pleased sharing these personal moments publicly, stating, “Well, if you have the time.”

When asked to choose between celebrities Kylie Minogue, Nicole Kidman, and Rhonda Birchmore in the “Shags, Marriages and Dating” segment, he initially mentioned his recent marriage before indicating Minogue would be his choice.

Reactions to his humor were swift and varied, with many finding the comments inappropriate. Albanese later expressed a clear apology regarding his comments on Minogue’s sexuality. As for his wife, Jodie, she has not yet made any public statements regarding the incident.
