The tragic death of 22-year-old Emily Beutner, daughter of Los Angeles mayoral candidate Austin Beutner, has come to light. She was discovered alone by the roadside and subsequently taken to a hospital where she passed away, as reported by the California Post.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Sierra Highway and Technology Drive in Palmdale around 12:10 a.m. on January 6, responding to what appeared to be a medical emergency involving Beutner, who had trouble breathing.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department provided immediate medical assistance and transported her to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to a sheriff’s office press release.
The cause of her death remains “deferred” while awaiting further examination from the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
Investigators from the LASD Homicide Bureau have taken the lead in this case due to the unusual circumstances surrounding her death, which is a standard protocol in cases like this.
Austin Beutner expressed his family’s profound grief, saying, “My family has experienced the unimaginable loss of our beloved daughter. We ask for privacy and everyone’s prayers at this time.”
Mayor Karen Bass also shared her sorrow, stating, “I am deeply saddened by the tragic death of Austin Beutner’s daughter. Words cannot express the depth of pain that a parent experiences when they lose a child. My heart breaks for the Beutner family, and my deepest sympathies go out to Austin, his wife Virginia, and the entire family.”
She added, “I will continue to hold them in my heart and am ready to help with whatever they need.”
