Australian activist claims Billie Eilish led to his deportation from the US

An influencer known as a “performance artist” claims he was removed from the United States following a reaction to Billie Eilish’s Grammy acceptance speech about “Stolen Land,” which coincided with his attempt to crowdfund a move into a $3 million mansion in Los Angeles.

Drew Pavlou shared on X, “Billie Eilish deported me from the US. I think her legal team got in touch with the DHS.” He mentioned he spent a lengthy 30 hours at the LAX immigration office trying to clarify that his provocative post was merely a joke, and he didn’t truly intend to relocate into her mansion.

The California Post contacted the Department of Homeland Security to confirm his claims, but hasn’t heard back yet. Eilish’s team has also not responded to inquiries.

This incident follows Eilish’s impactful speech where she declared, “No one is illegal in stolen land,” and made an expletive-laden remark regarding ICE while accepting an award for Song of the Year.

Interestingly, Pavlou said most immigration officers were friendly and even amused by his situation, though he suggested that perhaps there are still “evil left” influences in some bureaucratic areas. Reflecting on Eilish’s lyrics, he humorously noted, “Maybe I’m just a bad guy.”

Her brother, Finneas O’Connell, recently sold his Malibu beach house for about $5.66 million. Eilish herself is estimated to have a net worth of around $53 million, having purchased a horse ranch in Glendale for $2.3 million at just 17 years old.

The singer’s remarks stirred a variety of strong reactions online. Some critics have labeled her as self-indulgent, questioning why she wouldn’t offer her mansion to someone in need, while others have insisted that individuals who acknowledge “stolen land” should hand over their land to Native Americans.

Among the more theatrical reactions was a British reporter for GB News, who attempted to gain access to Eilish’s mansion shortly after her remarks, essentially poking fun at her statement about stolen land.

In a somewhat comedic manner, he remarked, “Billy, please come in, Billy. We’re here because this is stolen land…” while standing outside her property.
