A 12-year-old girl from Eumundi, Queensland, Australia, jumped into action to rescue her guinea pig after a giant snake tried to eat her furry friend, a video show revealed. .
A video posted on social media by Australian radio presenter Kip Wightman shows his niece Rosie Wightman moving to a corner of her backyard in search of her pet guinea pig Maxibon on Sunday.
Rosie then looks behind the bush, crouches low to the ground, and reaches behind the bush.
When she reached behind the bushes, a black dog ran towards her and Rosie appeared with a large snake in her hand.

Inside the snake’s mouth was a fluffy white rodent, Maxibon.
“I didn’t really think about it,” Rosie said in an interview with 7News Australia. “I was just like, ‘Grab the snake, grab the snake.'”

Rosie’s father swung the snake about five times before jumping to his daughter’s rescue and grabbing it, causing Maxibon to let go and sprinting away.
Looking more nervous than his preteen daughter, Rosie’s father, Luke Wightman, tiptoed towards the snake, hesitantly picked it up and threw it over the fence.

Family members told the station that Maxibong appeared to be no worse than before his death.
“I’m so proud of my Rosie for having the courage to pick up a snake at the age of 12 and save the life of a pet,” Ms Wightman said.

The department also reported that the snake appeared to have a brown body with a pale belly and could be any number of species, including a harmless python or a deadly eastern brown snake.
