Australian PM Invites Donald Trump to Visit Down Under

Come to the land below and say g'day. That was Wednesday's message from Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to President Donald Trump.

Once a leader of the left Rejected The Republican president now appears to be changing his mind, saying, “He (Trump) is scaring sh*t from me, so I think it's a bit of a worry that Free World leaders can do politics overnight through 140 characters.”

ABC News Report Albanese has “absolutely” planned for an outlet afternoon briefing to make America one of his first international trips if he is re-elected, but he wanted to tentatively welcome Trump to Australia.

“I discussed going to the US with the president, and that's certainly going to be very early in that semester,” he says.

Australia and the US have a long history of close alliances on trade, diplomacy, and battlefield issues. The Australian and US troops fought together in battle on July 4, 1918, during the Battle of Hamel in northern France during World War I.

They have been sharp allies ever since, and bilateral ties remained in place no matter which party had superiority in Washington and Canberra.

Asked when Trump would go down, the prime minister says that's the problem for him.

“He wasn't his first term as president, but the American president is always welcomed as another international visitor,” he says.

Australia also “highly likely” to hold a meeting of Quad, a group of leaders from the US, Japan and India next year.

As for whether PM is close to securing another phone call with Trump, it seems no.

The appeal from Canberra comes as Asian security concerns have risen and Australian Army received the first delivery of its long-range US rocket system on the “Game Changer” mobile.

The acquisition of the country's Himah system, which is used in Ukraine's devastating effects on Russian forces, was accelerated after a 2023 defense strategy review.
