Australian Politician Demands Jack Black’s Band Be Deported After Member Said ‘Don’t Miss Trump Next Time’

An Australian senator has called for the immediate expulsion of Jack Black’s band Tenacious D after one of their members made a hateful comment about former President Donald Trump surviving an assassination attempt.

Breitbart News reported that during a show in Sydney on Sunday, Black sang “Happy Birthday” to bandmate Kyle Gass, who turned 64, and then asked Gass to make a wish.

Gass shared a secret hope with the crowd: “Just make sure you don’t miss Trump next time,” a reference to the assassination attempt on Trump a few days earlier that claimed the life of one rally attendee.

Threatening the President of the United States is a federal felony under Title 18, United States Code, Section 871.

The comment drew laughs and cheers from the 9000-strong crowd, but a video of the moment was posted to social media and drew criticism, with many people slamming the pair. report.

United Australia Party leader Senator Ralph Babette on Tuesday called for Tenacious D to be expelled from the country following their onstage reaction.

Babette insisted Glass was not joking and called on Australia’s immigration minister, Andrew Giles, to “cancel their visas”.

The senators published a letter calling for their deportation, writing, “Tenacious D, who wished for the assassination of Donald Trump at their Sydney concert, should be deported immediately.”

He continued: “I strongly condemn Tenacious D’s calls for political violence in Sydney on Sunday. Advocating or wishing for the assassination of a president is outrageous, abhorrent, foul and evil and is unacceptable in any form. This is not a joke and he was serious when he wished for the president’s death.”

Tenacious D still have four shows remaining on their Australian tour, including Newcastle, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide, but the Newcastle concert was hastily cancelled following the comments.

It’s unclear whether those shows will go on as scheduled.

As Breitbart News reported, Jack Black performed for Democratic supporters at a Hollywood fundraiser in June, where he even wore a “Dark Brandon”-themed T-shirt.
