Karen Huger Released Early from DUI Sentence
Karen Huger, known from “Real Housewives of Potomac,” was released from the Montgomery County Detention Center (MCDC) six months into her DUI sentence, as confirmed by an official.
After crashing her Maserati in 2024, Huger was found guilty in 2025. An MCDC spokesperson reported, “She has been released.” A police bodycam video later aired, revealing Huger struggling to speak and admitting to being “drunk” shortly after the incident. Interestingly, during the police questioning, she referred to herself as Thomas Jefferson’s “concubine.”
Initially, she was hesitant to view the bodycam footage. “I thought, surely they made a mistake, right? Because everything’s not connecting for me,” she shared with her husband in a clip from a March episode. But when she finally watched it, she expressed disbelief, noting, “I didn’t recognize that woman. I didn’t know her.”
Prior to the accident, Huger claimed she had “blacked out.” The judge handed down a two-year sentence, with one year suspended, leading to her immediate arrest in February. However, the reasons behind her early release remain unclear.
Huger’s recent legal troubles aren’t her first; her arrest had been a focal point of the show, and she has faced multiple driving violations since 2006.
