Animatronic down coats displayed in the window of Aritzia, a trendy women's clothing store in Manhattan. looks like it's doing The viral “Trump dance” — Probably unknown to people in the “woke” chain Upper management.
The automated ad display shimmy, which appears similar to the president-elect's highly popular campaign move, drew positive reviews from passersby Sunday.
“This is an attention-grabber,” said a tourist named Chris from West Palm Beach, Fla., who was outside the brand's Fifth Avenue store with his family.
Chris' wife Cam said: [the Trump dance]it's okay.
“You can love it or hate it,” she said.
Another onlooker said, “Now that we have a new president; [the display] It's not bad for us.
“Maybe that's the case for some people.”
It's unlikely that the Vancouver, Canada-based brand, which donated $100,000 to Black Lives Matter and the NAACP in 2020, is aware that this display is reminiscent of President Trump.
A person familiar with the company's displays told the Post that the chain described the animatronic gestures as “definitely just common dance moves” and that they were “not intended to imitate anything or anyone.” '' he said.
But some of the dozens of passersby who stopped by the Fifth Avenue store to take photos with the display weren't convinced.
When a Post reporter pointed out the similarities between Trump's dance and the mannequin, Ray, a Los Angeles tourist, said, “That's true.”
“That's the way he dances,” said Caroline, from Baltimore, Maryland, before showing off the president-elect's signature wiggle.
“It seems like that. But I think a lot of people dance that way,” she added. “Trump is someone who is always in front of the camera.”
The larger-than-life mannequins have been installed at Aritzia's newest New York store. They were installed in Soho on Nov. 26 and on Fifth Avenue, down the street from Trump Tower, on Dec. 16, store employees told the Post.
X also reported on an animatronic with similar movements at the brand's Aritzia store in Toronto.
Aritzia may not be dancing as much when Trump returns to the White House next month. According to fashion blogger Antonio Padilla,.
Earlier this month, he suggested in a now-viral TikTok video that the price of the brand's popular clothing could go up under the Trump administration.
The president-elect said one of his first executive actions would be to impose a 25% tariff on all imports from Mexico and Canada. According to the Associated Press.
“Many of these costs will likely be passed on to U.S. consumers,” Padilla said.
“For example, Canadian-based brands like Aritzia and LuluLemon could see a 25% increase in their products once the new tariffs go into effect.”
