safety CJ Gardner Johnson Gardner-Johnson’s stay in Detroit didn’t last long, as on Tuesday the 26-year-old signed a three-year contract to reunite with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Gardner-Johnson’s new contract with Philadelphia is worth approximately $33 million, according to a representative from Universal Sports. ESPN.

His only season with the Lions was plagued by injuries and unmemorable. In fact, Gardner-Johnson only appeared in the following productions: three games During the campaign. His first three seasons in the league were spent with the New Orleans Saints before signing with the Eagles in 2022.
For the Eagles, Gardner-Johnson had six interceptions in 2022, tied for the most in the NFL. His performance on the field was a key reason why the Eagles were able to advance to the Super Bowl that season.
However, despite the success, Gardner-Johnson was not satisfied during his stay in Philadelphia. (Related: Houston Texans acquire Joe Mixon and may have had their best offseason as a result)
While streaming and playing a video game last July, Gardner-Johnson answered a fan’s question about his favorite and not-so-favorite moment in the City of Brotherly Love. Ta. Even more interesting, he was paying $5 to keep it real.
“Okay, fuck it now,” Gardner-Johnson began. “The thing I hate the most is people. They’re fucking disgusting. I can’t stand these motherfuckers.”
His favorite thing to do is to worry about the weather.
