Former Obama chief strategist David Axelrod says “upscale” and “liberal” residents of North Carolina, which was hit hard by Hurricane Helen, “will probably find a way to vote” in next month's presidential election. '', but residents living in the same area also suggested that the same was true. Who would vote for former President Donald Trump is probably not the most resourceful person.
Axelrod, a deep leftist, made the eye-opening declaration last week on an episode of his “.Ready-to-use hacksPodcast when we talk about battleground states like North Carolina and the devastation left behind by Helen.
“I don't know if it would be just as easy for the Trump campaign to contend with many of the people whose homes and lives were destroyed elsewhere in western North Carolina, in the mountains there.”
He called Asheville the “blue dot” of western North Carolina, and despite Helen causing mass displacement in the surrounding area, Asheville voters supported Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. He said that he has the smarts to gather votes.
“Asheville voters, you know, are the type of voters who will figure out how to vote,” Axelrod said. “You know, they're upscale, liberal voters, and they're probably going to find a way to vote.”
But what about Trump supporters in areas hard hit by Helen? Apparently, there aren't that many.
“I don't know if it's going to be just as easy for the Trump campaign to fight elsewhere in western North Carolina, where many of the people whose homes and lives were destroyed in the mountains there,” Axelrod said.
He added: “We don't know how it's going to pan out, but there's an element of unpredictability in North Carolina that could make things a little more interesting heading into the election.”
Axelrod also said that for Democrats, “the northern battleground states other than Wisconsin are scary” and “unreliable.” He added that Harris needs to find an “insurance policy” and a “second resort” as her campaign races toward the finish line.
How does the observer react to Axelrod's words?
fox news I pointed out some prominent X users who took issue with Axelrod's statements.
- OutKick.com Founder Clay Travis I wrote“@davidaxelrod said on his podcast that Democratic voters in Asheville, North Carolina are smarter and wealthier and will still come vote for Kamala even though he thinks Trump supporters won't. This is why Kamala and Biden are not helping, this is why they are profiting from the disaster. ”
- Molly Hemingway, editor-in-chief of The Federalist; added“I'm concerned that Mr. Axelrod's point is why Mr. Harris and Mr. Biden are drowning these people.”
- FOX News Contributor Tammy Bruce I wondered“Famous Democratic operative David Axelrod says that Democrats in the city will be smarter, more resourceful, and more understanding of how to vote, but not Trump, the idiot who mourns in the mountains of North Carolina after he's lost everything.'' Did you know that you think he won't? Was he in the election?'' Kamala almost bursts into laughter? ”
