Hirsi Ali Supports Trump’s Davos Remarks

Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a Somali-born activist and author, expressed her agreement with President Donald Trump’s statements made at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Trump emphasized that Western civilization must defend itself against potential threats and proclaimed that “Western countries cannot mass import foreign cultures.”

He specifically mentioned the situation in Minnesota as indicative of the risks associated with bringing in cultures incapable of establishing successful societies, referencing Somalia as a “failed country.” Essentially, Trump argued that the prosperity of the West stems not just from economic policies like tax cuts, but from a distinct cultural heritage shared across America and Europe.

In her comments to Fox News Digital, Hirsi Ali affirmed that the message Trump presented is crucial. She noted, “It’s not just important; it’s the most important thing.” She believes it’s vital for the President to convey such messages to awaken public awareness.

Hirsi Ali’s own background is marked by hardship; she survived female genital mutilation in Somalia and fled forced marriage, later serving in the Dutch parliament. Now residing in the U.S., she advocates for women’s rights and critiques Islam while promoting Western values.

She emphasized that understanding and protecting the unique culture that underpins American and European greatness is essential. Without that, there’s a genuine risk of losing it altogether.

Hirsi Ali also supported Trump’s criticisms of Somali immigrants involved in a substantial fraud scheme in Minnesota. She stated, “I completely agree with the president,” further explaining that Somalia struggles with governance partly due to historical issues related to clan dynamics and failed ideologies.

Moreover, she pointed out that the situation in Minnesota reflects a detrimental trend, suggesting that there’s an agenda to use American systems to fundamentally alter the culture of the region. Hirsi Ali remarked on the exploitation of welfare systems by some Somali immigrants, suggesting this behavior is shielded by accusations of racism against anyone who challenges it.

She warned that continuing to accept large numbers of immigrants from disadvantaged regions without requiring integration could lead to cultural and political crises. To address these challenges, she advocated for stronger borders and a reevaluation of welfare systems in both the U.S. and Europe, which, she argued, have become too financially burdensome.

Hirsi Ali insisted on the necessity of assimilation for immigrants, stating that those unwilling to integrate should reconsider their citizenship status. She characterized the matter as existential, rather than simply political.

In her view, Trump’s remarks at Davos represent a pivotal moment, urging European leaders to prioritize the defense of Western civilization. She echoed sentiments that leaders should focus on what they stand for, suggesting that a lack of clarity on this front leaves them lost.
