Ayesha Curry Discusses Her Family and Career Choices
Ayesha Curry, the wife of NBA star Stephen Curry, shared some candid thoughts on Alex Cooper’s podcast that caught a lot of attention online this past weekend. In the episode, she mentioned her lack of immediate plans for marriage and having a large family, reflecting on how life took its course.
She recalled, “No. So I didn’t want children. I didn’t want to get married. I thought I was going to become a ‘career girl’. That’s all.” Curry, who married at 22, discovered she was pregnant about a month after their wedding.
Sometimes, she felt like she was at a crossroads between her career aspirations and relationship. “Yes, to some extent,” she admitted. Though it was never explicitly framed that way, she experienced that tension. After they tied the knot, they quickly learned she was expecting their daughter. “It’s so funny. I spent my whole life working towards something,” she remarked.
At just 22, she felt unprepared for what the future held, but she acknowledged being in love with Stephen and that he was someone she wanted to spend her life with. As his fame surged, so did hers, albeit in a different way. Navigating the spotlight as the wife of a prominent athlete has its challenges. “He’s so graceful. He tries to resonate with me, but he just can’t,” she said, touching on the complications of their differing experiences in fame.
Ayesha and Stephen share four children, and she has also ventured into launching her own lifestyle brand, Sweet July, which includes Sweet July Productions and Sweet July Skins, established in 2020.
This unique blend of personal and professional experiences paints a fascinating picture of Ayesha Curry as she balances motherhood with her ambitions.
