Hudson Meek, the teenage actor best known for his role in the 2017 film “Baby Driver,” has died after falling from a moving vehicle, authorities in Alabama announced.
Meek, 16, died of his injuries two days later in the Birmingham suburb of Vestavia Hills on Thursday, Dec. 19, according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office. The Vestavia Hills Police Department is investigating the death.

Meek's first, uncredited role was in the 2014 TV movie Santa Con, starring Melissa Joan Hart. A year later, he landed his first major role on 90 Minutes in Heaven, opposite Hayden Christensen and Kate Bosworth.
In 2017, the actor played the younger version of Ansel Elgort's Baby in the Academy Award-nominated and hugely successful film Baby Driver. Since then, Meek has appeared in several television shows, including the animated series “Badanumu Cadets'' and “Badanumu Stories.''

Meek's last official role was in the 2024 film The School Duel, written and directed by Todd Wiseman Jr.
According to his obituary, Meek was a sophomore in high school and participated in student government, honor choir, and Christian Athletes fraternity. Meek also enjoyed the outdoors and football and was a big supporter of the Auburn Tigers.

“Above all, Hudson was passionate about his Christian faith,” the obituary continued. “He loved Bible studies, youth retreats, mission trips, and just being in church.An active member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church, Hudson also attended Shades Mountain Baptist Church, Vestavia Hills I also found United Methodist Church, Mountain Brook Community Church, and other churches that host events for youth focused on Jesus Christ.”
