A six-month-old baby girl has died after a crash at a multi-storey car park in a popular Welsh seaside town.
Sophia Kelemen, from Leigh, Greater Manchester, was injured in the crash on the first floor of a car park in Tenby, south-west Wales, on January 2.
Sophia was taken to hospital, but Dyfed Powys Police said on Monday that she died from her injuries the next day.
Flaviu Nagy, 33, from Wigan, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and driving without a license or insurance.
Dyfed Powys Police said: “He appeared at Swansea Magistrates' Court on Saturday, January 4, where he was remanded for a further remand and appeared at Swansea Crown Court on February 7.” He was also arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and drug-driving and was released on bail on those charges. ”
The spokesperson added: “This is a tragic incident and an ongoing investigation is ongoing. Please do not second guess the situation. Our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time. are supported by specially trained police officers.”
The family released photographs of Sophia through police, including one taken overlooking a sandy beach in Tenby. In another photo, he is seen with his mother, father, and older brother, although their names have not been revealed.
