Florida's Amendment 4, which would essentially legalize abortion up until birth, among other things, is set to be on the ballot this November.
Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon has donated $100,000 of his own money to persuade Floridians to vote against the amendment and keep Florida a pro-life state.
“The biggest thing that will have an impact on whether Amendment 4 passes is whether people understand what it is,” Dillon told Blaze News Tonight's Jill Savage and Matthew Peterson.
But Dillon explains that “the amendment is very cleverly written and very misleading.”
“This bill is deliberately written in a very vague way that makes it sound like it allows abortion up to the point of viability,” he continued. “It has a lot of support because a lot of people think it's reasonable.”
Although the amendment claims to simply create a constitutional right to abortion up to the point of viability, its language allows for much more: it would also allow abortion in other cases beyond the point of viability if a “health care provider, not just a physician,” determines that the abortion is necessary for the mother's health.
“So that begs the question, what is the health issue?” Dillon said, adding that the health care workers “could literally be people working at a Planned Parenthood clinic.”
“Because parental consent is gone and there is only parental notification, you could have minors getting abortions well past the age of viability,” he continues. “So that creates all kinds of problems under the surface.”
