Bad Bunny faced significant backlash Tuesday night after he seemingly stayed seated during the “God Bless America” performance at the New York Yankees versus Toronto Blue Jays playoff game, as reported by various sources.
The initial image showed the Grammy-winning artist relaxing with friends a few rows behind home plate, while fans around him stood with hands over their hearts. A video surfaced, capturing a crowd singing together as Bad Bunny remained seated.
FOX News Digital has reached out to Bad Bunny’s team and the Yankees for a statement; no issues were noted when the images were analyzed.
Bad Bunny has been a prominent figure since it was announced he would perform at the halftime show of Super Bowl LV. His remarks about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have also gained attention recently.
In September, he opted not to schedule U.S. dates for his tour, expressing concerns that fans could face detainment by ICE agents. “There were worries about ICE being present at my concert, which was a significant concern for us,” he mentioned in an interview.
His prior comments about ICE resurfaced as NFL fans debated the choice of Super Bowl LX halftime entertainment.
In June, he shared videos on social media of what he termed a local ICE raid in Puerto Rico, where he highlighted the presence of ICE agents in a particular area.
Since then, Bad Bunny has made various appearances at sporting events across the U.S. and even hosted an episode of “Saturday Night Live.”
