Bad News Brown to be honored in the WWE Hall of Fame

WWE Announces Bad News Brown’s Hall of Fame Induction

WWE made a significant announcement on Thursday: Bad News Brown is set to be inducted into the Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class of legacy members.

Brown, known off the ring as Allen Koji, will enter alongside notable figures like Stephanie McMahon, AJ Styles, Demolition, Dennis Rodman, and Sid Eudy, with Eudy also recognized as a legacy member.

WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, shared his thoughts on X, recounting Brown’s inspiring journey from the podium of the 1976 Summer Olympics to the center of the ring at WrestleMania IV. Levesque highlighted Brown’s competitive spirit and his contributions to martial arts and WWE. “We are honored to announce his induction into the #WWEHOF’s 2026 Legacy Class,” he noted.

Before wrestling, Brown had a successful career as a judo competitor, securing a bronze medal at the Montreal Olympics in 1976 and winning gold at the Pan American Games in both 1967 and 1975.

Starting in professional wrestling with New Japan Pro Wrestling, Brown had a career that spanned from 1977 to 1992. He also had early experiences with the World Wide Wrestling Federation and Stampede Wrestling prior to his rise in WWE.

Known for his serious demeanor, Brown had memorable rivalries, particularly with Randy Savage and a notable match against “Rowdy” Roddy Piper at WrestleMania VI. Even after his WWE career, he remained active in various independent promotions.

Interestingly, despite his accomplishments, Brown never held a championship title in WWE. However, he was inducted into the Canadian Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2007 and was a four-time champion in Stampede Wrestling.

Brown passed away from a heart attack in 2007 at the age of 63.
