Reports say the Atlanta Bagpiper passed away while attending a popular tourist attraction just days before his son's body was found at a tree house in Georgia, four years after his loss.
Henry Franz Jr., 74, was scuba diving in Maui, Hawaii on March 10, according to an Instagram post by the Atlanta Pipe Band.
“A founding member of APB in 1970, past pipe major and dedicated member of 55 years, Henry's impact on the band and plumbing community has been immeasurable.” The group said. “Beyond music, Henry's curiosity led him to travel the world, explore fossils and pursue scuba diving.”

The incident is reportedly under investigation.
Maui police did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
“That's terrible,” Franz's friend, Leonard E. Wood; He told WJCL. “[Henry] Sadly, it's missed in the piping community, Atalanta and elsewhere. ”

Six days later, the family found the skeletal remains of Franz's son, 28-year-old Henry Hank Franz, in a backyard wooden house in the Georgia home where his father previously lived. USA Today reported.
Dekalb Medical Examiner's Office believes that the skeleton likely belongs to the young Frantz, who went missing four years ago. According to WJCL. The cause and method of death remained under investigation, but authorities reportedly do not suspect a foul play.

The Atlanta pipe band did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Fox News Digital.
“I just know that sometimes you can meet someone and you're going to like them,” Wood told WJCL. “And I think that's the way for Henry.”
