Lambrini Girls Cancel Coachella Appearance Due to Injury
Disappointing news for Coachella enthusiasts: a scheduled performance at the upcoming festival has been called off. This follows an incident where guitarist Phoebe Ranney sustained an “acute brain injury.”
The band Lambrini Girls announced on Instagram that they would be missing their Saturday slot at the festival due to Ranney’s “broken neck” and other related injuries.
In the post, she shared, “I had to cancel Coachella and reschedule my entire US headline tour. Long story short, I broke my neck and suffered an acute brain injury.”
Ranney elaborated that the unfortunate accident took place in Australia, where she was initially misdiagnosed, leading to delays in her treatment.
“Doctor’s orders are that you cannot fly or perform for six weeks,” the announcement continued.
While all headline tour dates will be moved to later dates, shows in the UK and Europe scheduled for late May will continue as planned.
Many fans have reached out to express their support following the cancellation of the Coachella performance.
“We are very gutsy guys. We really want to be there,” the post conveyed. “If I broke my leg, I’d be like Dave Grohl and play.”
She added, “I’m not taking this lightly. It’s really sad. I hope there’s a chance to perform there next year.”
Ranney noted, “But because of my neck and brain, my hands are tied for now. Luckily, I’m hoping for a quick recovery—thank you!”
Her message concluded with gratitude towards supporters.
Commenters below shared uplifting messages, wishing Phoebe and the band a swift recovery. One noted, “It’s a flat tire to rest. I hope you recover quickly.” Another mentioned, “The new album will sustain us until you recover.” The group’s debut LP, titled “Who Let the Dogs Out,” is set for release in 2025.
Cancellations and last-minute changes are pretty regular for Southern California’s renowned multi-day music festivals.
In light of Lambrini Girls’ cancellation, reports indicate that rock icon Jack White has been added to the lineup to entertain concertgoers this weekend.
“Coachella 2015 headliner Jack White is making a surprise return. Catch him live at the Mojave Tent this Saturday at 3 p.m.,” the post informed fans. Excitement is clearly building among those anticipating his performance.
