
Steve Bannon, a former President Trump’s 2016 campaign official, on Monday slammed House Republicans, saying they “want MAGA abolished” and that the former president wants to run for the White House in 2024. He claimed that he hoped his candidacy would fail.
“What? [Rep. Jim] Jordan [R-Ohio] From Fanny Willis in Georgia to “Big Tish James” in New York City, aren’t they being investigated for criminal conspiracy? ” Bannon asked. “War Room” Podcast.
“Department of Justice, why haven’t they been sent a ‘preserve the documents’ letter? Why haven’t there been hearings? Why haven’t they dismantled these things? You I know why, because they don’t actually support Trump,” Bannon continued.
Conservative commentators slammed House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, arguing that the Ohio Republican’s support for Trump was entirely “performative.”
“Don’t just say ‘Hannity’ and tell him everything you’re going to do and send out tweets,” Bannon quipped.
“There’s nothing going on that would support President Trump. I repeat: nothing,” he concluded.
Bannon’s comments come as several members of Congress support calls for House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) to be removed amid mounting criticism of Republican leadership.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who is spearheading the motion to vacate the speakership, joined Mr. Bannon on the episode, saying that the foreign aid approval would lead to President Trump’s “Make America Great Again.” ” discussed Mr. Johnson’s declining popularity among supporters of the movement.
