Obama, who has long relied on data for political insight, has told people in several conversations that he is concerned that polls are moving away from Biden, that former President Donald Trump’s electoral path is widening and that donors are abandoning the president.
A spokesman for President Obama declined to comment.

Both Pelosi and Schumer are longtime allies of Biden, but their alliance appears to be fraying after Wednesday’s bombshell media reports and fears that Biden could suffer a historic defeat in a lower-level election if he doesn’t withdraw from the presidential race. A Democratic loss could change the face of Congress for decades, giving Republicans control of normally Democratic-leaning House and Senate seats.
