Barbara Corcoran Shares Insights on Cosmetic Surgery

There’s one question that candid fortune guru Barbara Corcoran won’t answer: how much she spends on plastic surgery.

“I’m not going to tell you,” she chuckled. “I know exactly how much, but I hesitate to say it out loud.”

The 76-year-old, estimated to have amassed about $100 million, recently started sharing insights on cosmetic surgery routines on social media.

Corcoran revealed that her last facelift, performed by Dr. Andrew Jacono in Manhattan—a surgeon known for his celebrity clientele—occurred five years ago. A deep-plane facelift from him can cost over $300,000.

Having sold her real estate firm, Corcoran Group, for $66 million in 2001, she underwent her first cosmetic procedure at 46.

“I do it every ten years, that’s my rhythm,” she explained. “One day, I noticed no one was paying attention to me on the street. It was a little distressing.”

Sharing her beauty regimen on Instagram, Corcoran listed various procedures: “Three facelifts, skin pinch on my lower eyelids, four fillers a year, brow lift, bright white teeth, 1550 laser treatments yearly, neck lifts, and ear fillers,” among others.

“At times, I felt like an invisible woman around town. It bothered me,” she added.

Recently, she discussed the pressures of looking good in her industry, mentioning other celebrities like Kris Jenner and Khloé Kardashian being open about their cosmetic enhancements. “I heard the cool kids share their plastic surgery secrets,” Corcoran remarked.

The real reason she chose to speak out, she said, is to help others feel better about themselves. “When I look better than my peers, it impacts how they feel,” she noted. “I wanted to be open about it.”

Despite her frankness, she admitted she doesn’t always disclose the extent of her beauty treatments. After one eyelid procedure, she fled to Greece for a vacation with her family.

As for pain, she’s all about toughing it out. “I’m not on any medication, just getting through it,” she stated, recalling a recent laser treatment on her neck as a somewhat uncomfortable experience.

Corcoran cleverly uses her ear fillers as a gauge for when it’s time for touch-ups on other treatments. “When my ear fillers fade, it’s like a sign that it’s time to refresh other areas,” she explained.

On the topic of recognition, she said, “Without makeup, I look completely different. I wear comfy clothes and a baseball cap, and no one recognizes me.”

Though she enjoys the anonymity when out and about, she admits she presents herself well at social events, wary of what people might say behind her back.

Professionally, everyone she knows comes to her for real estate advice. Currently, she’s eyeing areas around Brooklyn and the Eastside neighborhood, which she calls “incredible.”

Corcoran has recently sold her Upper East Side penthouse for $12 million and will divide her time between her new Fifth Avenue apartment and her other home.

She claims that New York will always be part of her, but she’s frustrated by certain quality of life issues, such as basic necessities being locked up at stores.

Regarding local politics, she commented on the Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, noting that he faces challenges from the real estate community. “Using terms like ‘rent freeze’ doesn’t sit well with landlords,” she remarked.

Though various committees once urged her to run for mayor, she was dissuaded, ultimately deciding politics isn’t for her, even if she feels she could win.

“I’d hate the job,” she admitted. “Politics just isn’t my thing.”

Corcoran is gearing up for the return of “Shark Tank” this September, which gives her a sense of purpose after selling her business. “I’m good at spotting talent,” she reflected. “How lucky am I? It even justifies my facelift expenses!”
