Bari Weiss to Host Town Hall with Erica Kirk
CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss is set to host her inaugural hour-long event featuring Erica Kirk, the CEO of Turning Point USA, this coming December. The town hall meeting is scheduled for December 13 at 8 p.m. in City Hall.
Sources indicate that Kirk will share personal insights regarding the tragic death of her husband, Charlie, as well as her own life experiences and perspectives on the current political landscape. During the event, she will also field questions from a diverse group of young evangelicals, religious leaders, and others representing a wide range of political views.
“Like many around the globe, I’ll never forget when Erica Kirk forgave her husband’s killer,” Weiss remarked. “I’m eager to have this discussion in front of an audience, where it can really ignite a dialogue.”
The live event will take place in New York and promises to be an engaging platform for difficult conversations.
Since Charlie’s assassination at Utah Valley University on September 10, Kirk has stepped into her role at Turning Point USA. She has made several notable public appearances, including her impactful speech at her husband’s memorial service, where she openly forgave the accused assailant.
Weiss aims to shift CBS’s perception of bias towards the left and intends to enhance operational efficiency. She plans to start by disbanding the Race and Culture department and is reportedly interested in recruiting Fox News’ Bret Baier and CNN’s Scott Jennings, although both have denied any intention to change their current positions.
