Barrasso predicts Trump will issue a 'blizzard of executive orders' once inaugurated

Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) said he believes President-elect Trump will issue a “blizzard of executive orders” once he takes office.

Barrasso appeared on CBS News' “Face the Nation” on Sunday and was asked about the Senate's confirmation of Trump's Cabinet appointments and what lies ahead as Trump begins his second term. .

“All these cabinet hearings are in full swing this week,” he said.

“And when President Trump takes office next Monday, there will be a flurry of executive orders, shock and awe, not just on the border but on the economy,” Barrasso continued.

President Trump said there are many things on his to-do list once he takes office, many of which are controversial.

The president-elect plans to implement a mass deportation effort, but immigration advocates have questions about how he will realistically implement the idea.

He also said he plans to pardon the defendants who stormed the Capitol more than four years ago on January 6, 2021.

Barrasso said part of his job is to help implement President Trump's plans by confirming the candidates he selects to be part of his second administration.

“I've met almost all of them,” he said. “I support all of these candidates. My job as whip is to make sure they get across the finish line and get the job.”

Barrasso said he would work “around the clock” if Democrats try to complicate the nomination process.
