Barstool Host Labels 'Extreme Right' as the 'Biggest Group of Cowards' for Supporting Kimmel's Suspension

Kirk Minihane Critiques Right-Wing Reactions to Jimmy Kimmel’s Suspension

Barstool Sports podcaster Kirk Minihane took aim at America’s “extreme right” and his own boss this Thursday, dismissing them as “P*ssies’ biggest group” in defense of Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension.

According to reports, ABC, Disney, and broadcast affiliate Nexstar are removing Kimmel’s show after he suggested that the assailant of conservative activist Charlie Kirk might have links to MAGA, despite evidence indicating left-leaning influences. Nexstar criticized Kimmel’s remarks as “aggressive and insensitive,” emphasizing a desire for more respectful dialogue.

Notably, there’s no proof that the shooter, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, had any Trump affiliations.

The debate surrounding Kimmel’s suspension has largely revolved around “cancel culture.” Barstool president Dave Portnoy argued that this isn’t a case of cancellation but rather a consequence of actions taken. However, Minihane disagreed with this perspective.

“At 10:06 on September 18th, 2025, Extreme Right is the largest cat group in America,” he remarked. Reflecting on his experiences, he mentioned swimming against a metaphorical tide, “You’re led by the Donald Trump duo and this ‘results culture’… It’s exhausting.”

Minihane went on to assert, “It’s typical behavior. It fits the tribe’s profile.” He’s previously clashed with Portnoy over how the latter navigated sensitive topics like jokes about Jewish people and viewed Portnoy’s reaction to Kimmel as indicative of a deeper issue.

Kimmel’s suspension followed comments made during *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* where he condemned the “Maga gang” for trying to affiliate the murderer with their group, expressing disappointment at the political exploitation of the situation.

In a particularly biting moment, Kimmel criticized Trump’s response to Kirk’s murder, stating, “He’s in the fourth stage of grief: Construction. This isn’t how adults process the death of someone they called a friend.”

While Kimmel’s comments might have crossed a line into tastelessness, it’s essential to note that the spread of false allegations regarding the shooter’s political affiliations caught many off guard.

The situation leaves one wondering: Was this a poorly timed joke, or a more serious misstep? Either way, the ramifications are significant, and, regardless of Portnoy’s take on humor, Kimmel’s comments have stirred quite a controversy.
