Basketball legend advises WNBA players to welcome Caitlin Clark

Nancy Lieberman Encourages Support for Caitlyn Clark in WNBA

Basketball icon Nancy Lieberman expressed her thoughts on the WNBA’s rising star, Caitlyn Clark, urging other players to embrace her success rather than feeling jealousy. She believes Clark could be a major financial asset for women’s basketball.

In a recent conversation with TMZ Sports, Lieberman commented on the All-Star selections, noting that Clark ranked as the ninth-best guard after receiving a significant number of fan votes.

Lieberman drew parallels between Clark’s current situation and the Detroit Pistons during their “Bad Boys” era, suggesting that unique circumstances often surround exceptional talents, like Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods in their prime.

“This is Caitlyn Clark. Don’t hate her. If she’s a cash cow right now, accept it,” Lieberman stated. “Her stats validate her skills—she’s currently the best guard in the league.” She went on to mention Angel Reese, praising her record-breaking achievements and highlighting the importance of unity among athletes.

Lieberman emphasized the need for players to support each other instead of nitpicking. “Just go outside and play,” she advised, reinforcing camaraderie within the sport.

Clark has encountered challenges since the results of the All-Star voting were shared. Meanwhile, she has dealt with recurring injuries, averaging 16.9 points and 8.6 assists per game but only participated in 11 games this season.
