‘Baywatch’ actress Nicole Eggert blames breast implants for not detecting cancer sooner: ‘Huge mistake’

Baywatch actress Nicole Eggert continues to regret having breast implants when she was younger.

Eggert revealed last month that she has a rare form of breast cancer called invasive cribriform carcinoma, but has now revealed that the disease is spreading. Doctors recently discovered additional cancer in her lymph nodes.

“It’s terrible, it’s terrible,” Eggert told Inside Edition.

She spoke frankly about her symptoms, including finding a large lump and feeling pain in her chest.

“When I felt it, my heart dropped and I thought, ‘Oh my god,'” she recalled.

The ‘Charles in Charge’ star claimed that if she had had natural breasts, her cancer could have been detected sooner.

“If I didn’t have breasts and had smaller, natural breasts, I probably would have felt it sooner,” Eggert told Inside Edition.

The actress admitted that she felt pressured to get breast implants when she was 19, when she starred alongside blonde bombshell Pamela Anderson, who was recognized for her fit figure.

“When I was on ‘Baywatch,’ I was so skinny and I loved how big my breasts were. I was the opposite, so I wore this red swimsuit that flattened me. The one-piece was just… I was like, ‘Oh my gosh,”’ Eggert explained. “You can’t do anything. You can’t cram it in.”

“Do a self-examination and don’t get an implant,” she suggested.

Before her diagnosis, she experienced chest pain and gained 25 pounds within three months. She was surprised to find a lump during her self-examination in October, believing it to be a symptom of menopause.

Subsequent test results revealed that she had stage 2 cribriform breast cancer. Both of Eggert’s parents had cancer.

In March 2023, the FDA issued an update on reports of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in scar tissue around breast implants and asked health care providers to submit reports of cases of cancer in that tissue.

“FDA is aware of 19 cases of SCC in the capsule around breast implants from the published literature,” the update explains. “There are reports of death due to disease progression in the literature. The FDA continues to believe that the occurrence of SCC in the capsule around breast implants may be rare, but the causes, incidence, and risks The factors remain unknown.”

Eggert has two daughters, Keegan (12) and Dilyn (25).
