Be a godly woman, not just a ‘trad wife’

Over the past few years, a new trend has taken social media by storm. It's called “Trad Life Aesthetics.”

A woman in an ankle-length floral dress with long, perfect, untangled hair kneels under a cow to milk the cow, carries a basket full of fresh eggs on her hip, and waits for an empty space. Our timelines are filled with images of women with children holding onto their other hands. Motherhood in the countryside is a beautiful image, but allie beth stuckey The author of “Relatable” believes that it is not only far from biblical femininity, but also a little distorted.

While the trend of being a trad wife and living a trad lifestyle is prevalent on social media, Stuckey said in a recent interview that it's “more about aesthetics than traditional or biblical values.” ”.

“None of these things are bad. In fact, they're really good in many ways.”

But being “trad” doesn't make it Biblical, and it doesn't have to be “Trad” to be Biblical.

“You can be a loving, discipling, wonderful, wonderful wife and mother, a Biblical wife and mother, even if you don’t look exactly like the trad trends on social media. It can be a great goal,” Stuckey says. “But for Christians, motherhood is a mission empowered by the Holy Spirit. It's not just aesthetics that we must align on.”
