“Not even a bear can stop me from trying to save my dog,” Jacobson wrote in a video posted to social media.

She added, “Thank goodness my @oofos shoes stayed on while running from a bear.”

Jacobson told the station that Zeus outran the bear as the dog rounded a corner, and that’s when the bear started chasing her.

“The bear definitely lunged at me. I was about 35 to 40 feet away from the bear. So I was like, ‘Yeah, I gotta run too.’ So it was definitely a dual impulse of Zeus running and me running.”

Jacobson, Zeus and the bears were all uninjured.
